Animal sanctuaries play an important role, not only in rescuing and rehabilitating individual animals, but also in offering us a precious opportunity to connect with them for who they really are – to hear their stories, and to learn about their unique and charming characters.
 
We use billions of animals each year. Only a lucky few are saved to live out the rest of their lives free from harm and show us that “billions” are made up of individuals.
