Greyhound Racing

Our WorkPhotos A-ZEntertainment – Greyhound Racing

Greyhound racing is a large gambling market (like horse racing) in many countries. Greyhounds are often trained – or blooded – with live animals as bait to make them run faster. The dogs often suffer brutal injuries during training and racing and are typically housed in small pens with few opportunities to socialize with humans or other dogs. In recent years campaigns have exposed rampant abuse, culling, mass graves, and illegal use of animals as bait, resulting in widespread calls to shut down the industry.
